The Simpsons is the longest running TV comedy on American televisions, and for good reason. Everyone can identify the yellow-skinned characters of the show, and almost everyone loves them. The family is easy to identify with, while still being ridiculous enough to be fun to watch. The episodes are funny all the way through, and simple character traits are recognized no matter where they are put. This makes for a very popular series with a long legacy.
